Edit Reasonable Opportunity Evidence
Extending the 95 days Reasonable Opportunity evidence ONLY applies to Citizenship and Newborn SSNs.
If verification is not received for Citizenship and the ES feels there is a need, per policy, to extend the 95 days, edit the existing Reasonable Opportunity evidence.
Participants are allowed 13 months minus 1 day to provide the SSN for a newborn.
Once the verification is received and entered, the Reasonable Opportunity evidence is automatically end dated.

If Citizenship verification is received and entered before the 95-day expiration of Reasonable Opportunity evidence, MEDES closes the task.
If the ES extends the reasonable opportunity period, MEDES will find the original task and extend the deadline to 12 days before the new deadline set in Reasonable Opportunity evidence.
If the ES does not extend the reasonable opportunity period MEDES will initiate the Adverse Action process. When the IM-33C is sent, MEDES will close the task.
