Participant Leaves the Vendor Facility

PROCEDURE:

When a participant leaves a Vendor facility, a determination of continued MHA eligibility is required. If income exceeds nonspenddown limits, spenddown eligibility begins the second month following the participant’s departure from the facility, when an invoice is generated by the MO HealthNet Division.

Update the Facility Information Details screen for the current facility to reflect the date and reason for leaving. Next, clear the screen to add the new facility, if appropriate. If the new placement requires a DHSS level of care determination, a PEND will occur in Technical Eligibility. MO HealthNet coverage continues until a decision is reached.

If an allotment will be discontinued, the allotment income for the dependent or community spouse must be ended.

A married couple’s combined assets will be examined to determine continued eligibility for MHA, if necessary.
