Duplicate DCN Resolution in FAMIS
When an individual has been issued more than one DCN, action is required to remove the higher DCN from use. The lower DCN is used for determining eligibility. To resolve a duplicate DCN situation:
Step 1
-
- See Duplicate DCN field process
- If the higher DCN in FAMIS is a member of the EU, continue to next step
Step 2
-
- In FAMIS, fastpath SCMBR
Step 3
-
- If the supercase displayed is not the correct case press F10=CLEAR to clear the screen
- Type in the correct supercase information to pull up the correct supercase
Step 4
-
- Type U on the command line
- Type S to select the individual with the higher duplicate DCN
- Type the correct DCN (lower one) over the incorrect one (higher one)
- Press CTRL
- The message “Confirm update of person with DCN Y_N” displays
Note: DO NOT go to SCLR from the SCMBR screen by pressing F14=CLRCLT and DO NOT bring the lower DCN back from SCLR. This process would result in adding the lower DCN as another individual instead of resolving the duplicate DCN
Step 5
-
- Type Y and press CTRL
- The message “Successfully UPDATED” appears. The lower DCN is in use for all FAMIS cases
