Annual Renewal – Cancel Close (AR CCL Prd) Watermark
When the IM-1U is received during the Annual Renewal Cancel Close Period (AR CCL Prd). This watermark will be present from the coverage end date up to and including the 30th day after closing for non-return of the IM-1U.
After the coverage has closed, during the Annual Renewal Cancel Close Period (AR CCL Prd), when the Begin Renewal button is clicked and the IM-1U date is entered, MEDES will be able to re-open the closed coverage systematically. While the process is running in the background, DO NOT close the sign and submit pop-up box as this will stop the process and put the case in an on-hold status and you will not be able to re-enter the IM-1U received date.
MEDES will Update Application Details evidence for anyone showing a No segment due to their Yes segment ending for non-return of the IM-1U. The old No segment will be moved to the corrections folder. MEDES extends the certification out one year if no non-renewable coverage is present like MPW or Newborn. MEDES then auto finalizes the CCL action to restore benefits and queues up the IM-33C CCL notice. Once MEDES has finished these steps, information from the IM-1U may be processed to the IC.
PROCESS ANNUAL RENEWAL – CANCEL CLOSE (AR CCL Prd) Watermark
-
- If the case shows ‘Evidence in Edit’, this will block the Cancel Close action from flowing downstream and the automatic cancel closing will not happen. A mitigation has been set up in the SharePoint Tasking to catch these cases and they will be manually Cancel Closed by a designated Processing Center.
- Once the case is Cancel Closed, follow steps to Annual Renewal – Process a Manual Review (IM-1U) (if applicable)
- If the case can be finalized the same day as the CCL action, MEDES shows the ongoing determinations as “on-hold”. The determination will take affect the next business day and notices will be queued for that day, whether that be an IM-33C or IM-80. The IM-33C CCL notice must be mailed the day before the next notice will be mailed.
