Alternative Care/Youth Services/Long Term Care Evidence on Integrated Case

This document addresses individuals going into Alternative Care, Youth Services or Long-Term Care. This guide describes the process of the incoming Youth Services/Alternative Care inbound file, creating AC/YS/LTC Status evidence and how to process specific types of cases.

PROCESSING OF THE YOUTH SERVICES/ALTERNATIVE CARE EVIDENCE

  • MEDES will create the AC/YS/LTC status evidence through a daily file from FACES and DYS. This report will not contain any future end dates.
  • BPTs have the capability to create/modify/view ‘AC/YS/LTC Status’ evidence. If the evidence is entered in error the BPT is allowed to delete evidence and eligibility is reinstated back to the original eligibility.
  • MEDES will automatically apply changes, activate the evidence and finalize these types of cases unless this is a newborn going into AC/YS/LTC care.

INDIVIDUALS RECEIVING NEWBORN GOING INTO AC/YS/LTC

For the IC which includes a child eligible for Newborn coverage, MEDES will automatically update the IC with AC/YS/LTC evidence, apply changes, activate the evidence, reassess the case, and will leave it with an On-Hold status under the Determinations tab.

The BPT must finalize the action on the IC to ensure the Newborn’s eligibility is ended.

NOTE: MEDES will create a task in the Processing Queue to Create a New IC/PDC. DO NOT create a New IC/PDC. The BPT needs to manually close this Task

If a child currently has AC but is requested MHN, please refer to field process: Closing Presumptive Eligibility and Alternative Care
