Relationships

FAMIS uses information on Supercase members’ family and legal relationships to determine eligibility and assist Eligibility Specialists (ES) when creating Eligibility Units (assistance groups/households).

Three FAMIS screens help staff establish, verify, maintain and document Supercase relationships:

• Supercase Member Relationships (FM0F/RELINFO)
• Relationship Detail (FMA4/RELATION)
• View Relationship Information (FM6T/VIEWREL)

Supercase Member Relationships (FM0F/RELINFO)

Access Supercase Member Relationships (FM0F/RELINFO) three ways:

1. Press F16=RELINFO on the Supercase Member Clearance screen to establish relationships when creating a new Supercase or adding a new Supercase member.
2. Use RELINFO fastpath to review existing relationships for accuracy.
3. Missouri FAMIS Main Menu (FMPX/FAMISMNU).

Establish relationships, bottom to top. Recording the person(s) in the repeating group to the person in the header. Below Ronald and Susan Eagan’s family relationship is established, they are spouses. Their relationship is verified by their marriage certificate, dated August 12, 1966.

The only valid action on this screen is add, “A”. This screen is not updatable. Once relationships have been added, right or wrong, this screen becomes inquiry only.

FAMIS requires entries in the Family Rel fields or the Legal Rel fields. Legal Rel field entries are mandatory if no family relationship exists and a legal one does.

Press F16=RELATION to access Relationship Detail to make the Eagan’s comment.

Relationship Detail (FMA4/RELATION)

There are four ways to access Relationship Detail (FMA4/RELATION):

1. Press F16=RELATION to access Relationship Detail from the Supercase Member Relationships screen.
2. F16= REL on View Relationship.
3. Use RELATION fastpath.
4. Missouri FAMIS Main Menu (FMPX/FAMISMNU).

It allows adds and updates. Use Relationship Detail to correct any field and to add new relationships between existing Supercase Members (such as formerly non-related children who are now step-siblings).

Relationship Detail (FMA4/RELATION) is the only screen where you:

• Add comments to verify and/or clarify relationships.
• Update relationship information.

Select the first line in the repeating group then press F18=COMMENT to go to Relationship Comment to record relationship verification.

Relationship Information (FM6T/VIEWREL).

Use this screen to see how Supercase members are related to each other. It is inquiry only.
