How Do I Know: Determining a Participant’s Medical Expenses

 

Why This Is Important: This allows you to access information to determine if an EU member is paying medical expenses.

 

  1. From the FAMIS Main Menu screen type the fastpath FAMISPAR or FM0D on the command line.
  2. Press Ctrl
  3. Tab down to either the SSN or DCN fields and enter the appropriate number. If you use the DCN, FAMIS uses a 10-digit number. You will need to add two leading zeros to the 8-digit DCN. Press Ctrl.

Or

  1. Tab down to select the Eligibility Unit by typing an S in the “Sel” field.
  2. Type the fastpath MEDEXP on the command line.
  3. Press Ctrl.

The Medical Expense screen below displays the expenses declared by the participant. This screen shows Olivia has a Health Insurance premium of $75 per month for Humana Health.

    • The Type is HI = Health Insurance
    • The Description is Humana Health
    • The Begin field shows the month and year the expense began was May 2019
    • The Amount field shows the participant pays $75
    • The Frequency (Freq) field shows the expense is paid monthly = MTH
