How Do I Know: Finding if a Participant has Health Insurance
Why This Is Important: This allows you to access the Select Insurance Screen to determine if an individual has or has had health insurance entered into the FAMIS System.
- From the FAMIS Main Menu screen type the fastpath FAMISPAR or FM0D on the command line.
- Press the Ctrl
- Tab down to either the SSN or DCN fields and enter the appropriate number. If you use the DCN, FAMIS uses a 10-digit number. You will need to add two leading zeros to the 8-digit DCN. Press CTRL.
OR
- Select an Eligibility Unit
- Fastpath to SELINS
- If needed, prompt out (=F4) in the SCN and DCN fields to find and select the household member you want to look at. This screen displays all health insurance policies existing in FAMIS for the household member.
- To see information on a specific policy, select the policy you want to see and press Ctrl.
The Health Insurance Detail screen identifies type of insurance, insurance company, policy holder, and insured person. The Disregard Amount field is used to disregard assets equal to the amount paid out on long-term care partnership policies.
