Citizenship and Immigrant Status

Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements information: SAVE
REQUIREMENT:
All EU members must be residents of the United States and U.S. citizens, or Qualified immigrant belonging to one of the eligible immigrant categories.
VERIFICATION:
If the individual declares EU members to be citizens of the United States, eligibility is established on this factor, unless questionable:
- CS = Client Statement (unless questionable)

f the individual declares that EU members are not citizens of the United States complete the following:
- HC = Hard Copy (photocopy both sides of the document that the individual uses to verify immigration status)
- See 18.6.4 Acceptable Documentation of Qualified Immigrant Status in the FSD policy manual for acceptable verification of immigration status.
- Access SAVE (Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements) via the Intranet. For victims of severe forms of trafficking, call the trafficking verification line at (202) 401-5510.
- HC = Print a copy of the completed Verification Information System Case Details for the case file.
For EU members who are not U.S. citizens, determine whether each non-citizen is a qualified immigrant.
