Replacing Food Destroyed by a SNAP Household Misfortune
When a SNAP household *reports that food purchased with SNAP benefits is destroyed by a household misfortune or lost/stolen from an EBT account, the EU completes the IM-110 form requesting replacement SNAP benefits. When benefits are destroyed by a SNAP household misfortune, staff obtain verification and if approved CTRL the replacement through the Payment Maintenance screen. When benefits are lost or stolen from an EBT account, staff obtain verification and the appropriate BPT or Manager will enter the replacement through the Payment Maintenance screen.
To issue replacement benefits, take the actions listed below.
Step 1

- Fastpath to FAMISPAR
- Press F10=CLEAR to clear the screen
- Type the participant’s DCN or SSN and press CTRL
- Copy the SCN
- Fastpath to PAYMAINT
Step 2

- Type A on the command line
- Paste in the SCN
- Prompt out for the EU
- Payroll Type field:
- Type REP if benefits are being replaced due to a household misfortune.
- Type RBS if benefits are being replaced due to lost or stolen from an EBT account.
- Enter the amount of the replacement in the Gross field
- Enter the month for which the replacement is made
- Press CTRL.
- The message “Verify that payment information entered is correct. (Y/N)”
Step 3

- If the information is correct, type Y and press CTRL.
- The message “Replacement payroll type entered. Send IM 110” appears.
- The Net, Create Date, Availability Date, Caseload, and Pay County fields are populated. The Status TBI (to be issued) and the date of the status appear on the lower half of the screen.
Step 4

- Press F18=COMMENT to record the reason a replacement was made to the EU.
Step 5

- Notify the EU of the decision on the IM-112 Action Taken on Your SNAP Case form.
