Annual Renewal – Begin Renewal
Upon receipt of the signed IM-1U, and when the Under Renewal watermark is present on the IC Context Panel, the staff must select Begin Renewal to ensure automatically generated tasks and notices are discarded by the system.
Effective April 1, 2023 and until further notice, follow the guidance in 18.10.1 Reconsideration Period During the Transition Period for All MO HealthNet (MHN) Programs. Re-open the case when the signed IM-1U has been provided with-in 90 days of the case closing due to non-return of the IM-1U.

- If the IM-1U is NOT signed, Return the original IM-1U to the participant with the Signature Request Letter and an FSD addressed envelope within 3 business days. Refer to Review and Annual Renewals: Incomplete or Unsigned.
- Consider the annual renewal as received if the participant turns in a new application (IM-1SSL) with all required information.
Follow these steps to Begin Renewal:
Note: As of 01/31/2020 when Begin Renewal is selected, the Determinations sub-tab now shows a finalized action as opposed to being on-hold as we saw prior to 01/31/2020. Under Renewal watermark will remain on the IC Context Panel until the next finalization.

- From the Integrated Case, click the Page Actions
- Select Begin Renewal button.

- From the Sign and Submit Insurance Assistance Renewal pop up box, enter the date the IM-1U was received.

- Click Yes. MEDES will be running processes in the background, DO NOT close the sign and submit pop-up box as this will stop the process and put the case in an on-hold status, and you will not be able to re-enter the IM-1U received date.
- Once the processes are complete, the Determinations sub-tab now shows a finalized action as opposed to being on-hold as we saw prior to 01/31/2020.The Under Renewal watermark will remain on the IC Context Panel until the next finalization.

Note: When the Begin Renewal button is clicked and the IM-1U date is entered, MEDES will be running processes in the background, DO NOT close the sign and submit pop-up box as this will stop the process and put the case in an on-hold status, and you will not be able to re-enter the IM-1U received date. CICs reported while a case is under renewal, but an IM-1U has not been returned, may be completed.
