Verify Outstanding Evidence

The evidence required for eligibility is pre-defined in MEDES. Required evidence is associated with each participant on the case and to the case overall. An Eligibility Specialist completes the required verifications to the evidence by electronic sources or by the applicant.

When using the 95 Day Reasonable Opportunity Period item as verification, you must verify the follow piece of evidence individually:

  • Citizen Status, without Identity

As part of MEDES Release 2.2, new functionality will “call” the federal hub to obtain certain information (currently, Medicare Part A). Future releases will request additional information. The process to Verify Evidence and Check Eligibility will be altered to ensure the client only receives one IM-31A when requesting additional information.

TO VERIFY EVIDENCE ON AN APPLICATION CASE OR INTEGRATED CASE

  1. Complete all Verify All Outstanding Self Attested Verification
  2. Complete Check Eligibility
  3. Check multiple MO Insurance Policy Details
  4. Verify All Other Outstanding Verification
  5. Generate an IM-31A to Request Information

TO VERIFY EVIDENCE

  1. From the Application Case or Integrated Case > Evidence sub-tab >Verifications folder >Outstanding tab.

TO VERIFY MULTIPLE PIECES OF EVIDENCE AT ONE TIME

  1. Click the Verify… menu to access the verification wizard.
  2. Select Item used as verification from the drop down menu.
  3. In the Provided By section
    1. Case Participant drop down menu
      1. Select the HoH for any evidence verified using self-attestation or provided by the participant

NOTE: ONLY select the HoH with an age (##) next to His/Her name

      1. Select the blank line for evidence verified using external sources or other hard copy verification (e.g. IMES, IIVE, SUPD, Pay Stubs, etc.)
    1. From the Participant drop down menu select the appropriate source
    2. In the Name free form field type the external source used (e.g. IMES, IIVE, SUPD, Employers Name, etc.)
  1. Click Next
  2. Check the box for any evidence that can be verified using the Item selected on the Add Proof page. If all of the evidence can be verified using this Item, check the box on the ribbon bar next to Evidence
  3. Type Comments as needed.
  4. Click Save
  5. Repeat steps 4-7 until all evidence needing verification is completed.

TO VERIFY EVIDENCE ONE PIECE AT A TIME

  1. Click List Actions menu next to each piece of evidence requiring verification
  2. Click Add Proof…
  3. Complete all necessary fields:
    1. Item
    2. Date Received

NOTE: For verification provided by the participant (usually located in the VFR), the Date Received is the item’s date stamp. For verification located electronically by the ES (i.e. IIVE, IMES, etc.) the Date Received is the date the ES found the verification electronically.

  1. Click Save
  2. Repeat steps until all items needing verification are completed

Refresh Items to Verify Count-Right-click in the Case Detail section or click F5 to refresh.
