Changing a Relationship on an Integrated Case
It may be necessary to change a relationship on an integrated case. For example, an unrelated couple may get married and change the household composition.

TO CHANGE A RELATIONSHIP ON AN INTEGRATED CASE
If completing this task as part of a returned IM-1U, or if the case is Under Renewal, you must first follow steps to To Create a Manual Renewal and To Complete Manual Renewal.

- Navigate to the Integrated Case > Evidence sub-tab > Dashboard folder
- Click Member Relationship hyperlink
NOTE: You MUST end the existing relationship and then create a new piece of evidence for the new relationship

- Click the
toggle to review Evidence for Member Relationship
- Click the List Actions
menu and select Edit
- In End Date, enter the date prior to the date reported
- Click Save
- Click the Page Actions
menu and select New
- In the New Member Relationship window, select the Case Participant
- Select the Related Participant
- Click the
NOTE: Reverse the order of the participants. [see screen shot below] In the New Member Relationship, in this example, Bill Jonesville is the Case Participant and Mary Smithville is the Related Participant.
MEDES does not recognize the new relationship unless you reverse the order of the participants even though the previous relationship has ended.

- In the Start Date enter the date reported
- Click Save
- Make a comment on the HoH Person Page to describe the change
- Complete Verifications
- Apply, Review, and Authorize Changes
