Non-MAGI – Spend Down/Non Spend Down Budget Summary
Guidance #
From FAMISPAR, fastpath to EULOG:
- Select “s” the month the client is calling to review and press F17SELAUTH
- Select “s” the client and press F16MHABD
- Select “s” the SPDN line and press F16AGBUDSUM
Earned Income: #
- Does the client have earned income? NO
- In this scenario, disregard the “Gross Earned Income” at the top left of the budget and the “Exemptions” at the top right. The $65 “Earned Income Exemption” and the $32.50 “Total exemption” ($65/2=$32.50), will always be listed if there is no earned income.
- Does the client have earned income? YES
- “Gross Earned Income” plus “Earned Income Exemption”, gives you the “Total” amount for earned income.
- The “Total Exemption” is, the “Total” divided by 2.
- The “Adjusted Earned Income” is, the “Gross Earned Income” – “Total Exemption”.
Deemed Income: For Disabled Children #
- Press F19DEEMINF
- This screen shows the MoHealthnet Disabled Child Allocation amount. It will show the parents’ income and any additional children who are not disabled in the home, with the allocation amount for that non-disabled child. You will also see the SSI Max for 2 people (parents’) and SSI Max Individual (one parent).
- Press F20DEEMCALC
- This screen shows the calculations on how the deemed income amount listed on the previous “Adult MoHealthnet Spend Down/Non Spend Down Budget Summary/FMD8” screen was determined.
- Calculations: “Parents’ Total Earned Income” – “Total Allocation & Exemption” –“Standard Exemption” divide by 2= Net Earned Income. “Net Total Income – “SSI Max for Parents”= “Total Remainder Deemed”. The Total Remainder Deemed and Remainder Deemed to MHDC are one in the same.
Total Adjusted Income: #
- This will include all available earned income, unearned income, and deemed income.
- To view the income budgets press F17INCSUM, this will show you all budgeted income and allow you to go into the budget by “s” selecting and pressing F16INCAMT.
Adjusted Gross Income: #
- The first “Adjusted Gross Income” line at the bottom left will be, the “Total Adjusted Income” – “Total Exemption” amount for personal income exemption/SSI payments, which is right above the “standard” line on the right.
- The “HOSP and Medical Ins Prem” line are the expenses being deducted from the income. All expenses can be viewed by pressing F18EXPSUM.
- The bottom “Adjusted Gross Income” line right above the “Spend Down Amount” line is, the “Adjusted Gross Income” – “HOSP and Medical INS Prem” total.
Spend Down Result: #
- The Spend Down amount will be, the “Adjusted Gross Income” – “MHABD Income Maximum”.
